What Time is it???

That's the question that I asked my husband at 4:12 this morning as he got home from work. We had been left a note by the relatives yesterday and it kind of upset me...simply because it seems like a really childish way to communicate....I am not unapproachable! So I had emailed Dan letting him know about it so he comes upstairs earlier than normal to read the note and then he laughed at me! It's frustrating to me that he feels like the note was no big deal...and it really wasn't that big of a deal but it still made me mad and frustrated at how childish his side of the family can be..!

So I was up from 4:15-5:30! I finally get back to sleep and then the alarm starts going off! So I may be rather tired today!

Dan recently asked me what I want for my birthday...I'm thinking a good nights sleep or two!

Thump, thump, thump

That's what I have been hearing for the last hour....run, run, run, thunk, thump, slam, bump! Jaron and Morgan have been running from one end of the house to the other, over and over and over again!

It's like there are elephants in the house! AUUUUUUGHHHH!

Any good ideas on how to get two kids ages 5-6 to play quietly...this winter has really taken a toll on us!

Weekend Update

Well, my husband has been on a stir fry kick lately. We eat stir-fried dishes just about every weekend and today was no exception. Tonight we made beef, broccoli, mushrooms and potatoes in a lemon terryaki sauce. It was quite good.

On the homefront no big news to report. Still working on maybe buying the house and stuff...its a challenge to talk to people and get all the paperwork done that needs to get done and everything. Especially since I work during the day and Dan is sleeping and at night I am so tired from working and he is at work.....So I have to try and catch people from like 4;30-5;00 and that is not always easy to do.!

My kids are great...Jaron decided that he is "the best kid in the world" because he helped Mommy wash like 3 dishes...oh my goodness he is so proud of himself! It's actually kinda funny.
Dan and Janea went and got haircuts today...I'll post pictures of Janea's shorter hairdo this week!

All in all a busy but good weekend!

Completed Today

Today I wasn't as productive as I would have like to been but I did get the great room vacummed, the kitchen cleaned and I didn't kill any of the kids! It's been a rather LLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG day....all cooped up in the house!

New Recipe Nope...

Tried to make red potatoes a new way and didn't like how they turned out...plus I burned my finger on my hot glass dish! OUCH! Note to self...check a cookbook before you start and try 2 hot pads instead of one!

# 4....not to happy about this one...

That's right....snow day number 4! This is getting really old. We haven't had a full week of school except for one this whole semester! It's a little frustrating!

Today I am home with all 4 kids. Dan and I watched the news for a little over an hour and then left for work. On the way there my boss called to say that we were canceling school (I am so glad that I had my phone on!). So we made it about 11 miles before turning around and going home. I am thankful for that since it's a yucky day and the roads are nasty! The bad thing is that I am tired now been up since 4:30 and went to bed later than normal because of AWANA last night, and not liking the fact that the other mom in the house is just sleeping all day! (This doesn't usually bother me except when I am doing all the work and taking requests from her kids and she is doing nothing)

Dan's sleeping and then will head to work. I am planning on finishing up cleaning the kitchen, then tackle the living room and the great room so that the house stops driving me crazy! I am so going to bed early tonight too.

I should be working but didn't think that the weather was going to be bad so I left all my lesson planning stuff at school and now I have plenty of time but no clue what I should teach for next week. I can't seem to catch a break!

Productive Mama

I spent all day yesterday cleaning house and this what I accomplished!

  • 7 loads of laundry including 2 coats!

  • 1 load of dishes in the dishwasher

  • Cleaned and Vacuummed my bedroom! You can walk completely around my bed and all the laundry is put away!

  • Assembled the Shop-Vac I got for Christmas from my mom and dad!

Random Thoughts

Top 8 things I like about my kids:
1. Their laughs!
2. When they say I Love you Mommy!
3. That freshly bathed smell!
4. When they say thank you without prompting!
5. Random acts of cleanliness!
6. Hugs!
7. Snuggles and family movie night!
8. Special Cards and letters!

Top 8 things I wish my kids didn't do:
1. Scatter popcorn from one end of the room to the other!
2. Leave wet towels where they drop!
3. Not flushing the toilet after using it!
4. Cannonballs in the bathtub!
5. Leaving the TV on when they leave the room
6. Yelling "MOOOOOMMMM, I need help" at the top of their lungs until I come running and find out that they need something silly!
7. arguing with me when I ask them to help clean up a room or negotiating to do less work.!
8. Leaving the car doors open!

So we are working on the list of things I don't like and keeping on with the list of things I do like! Janea is right now cleaning and so far has stopped complaining about how hard it is! Maybe I am making a little bit of progress with her!

Happy Valentines Day

So today is Valentines day and Jaron was so excited all week for it to come. He made his valentines, picked out candy for his friends and was just over the moon excited until this morning. Poor Baby...he's got a temperature of 103 and doesn't feel good at all. In fact he slept through his Valentine party at school!

Janea and I came home early for him and so we missed ours too. Fortunately, since I had so many treats we had cupcakes for snack so she did get to have something special for Valentines day.

Dan will be staying home with him tomorrow so I can go back to work.

Seeking Wisdom

So we have learned that the rest of the family would like to move back to where they used to live. The only hindrance is the house that we all our currently living in! They want to sell it but if push came to shove Dan and I would love to keep it for our family. We have really settled in and would be very comfortable long term in the house.

So we are seeking God's Wisdom on what to do. We are not in the financial place we would like to be and able to immediately qualify for a larger size mortgage. So I am seeking what God would have for us...maybe all the stress will bring a huge blessing for us at the end...Maybe God will reward us for our faithfulness...maybe we will be better off...right now God seems to be saying wait Erin, Trust ME. So that is what I am trying to do!

Please pray that I will continue to trust God and HIS perfect timing for things!

Pictures added

I've added some shots of my class from our field trip to the Steamboat Arabia Museum! Our Tour Guide was great! So Informative
The Chamber Pot! Old fashion Indoor Bathroom!
Janea checks out the map to see what we will see!
My Class checking out the paddlewheel
The Brochure from the museum!
The girls in my class are shorter than the saws!
Janea and Mrs. Miner checking out the exhibits

Good News!

Today...Dan got home and let me know that his checks are closer to full somewhat back to normal. Praise God! He has met our needs!

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

So I am claiming his promises and hopefully will get more answers as the weeks go on!

Pants Fiasco

I don't know what the deal is but both my husband and Janea andJaron have been having Pants issues!

Dan can never find clean pants...either I don't wash them fast enough or their in laundry baskets or in the washing machine or dryer..wet

Jaron can't put his pants on the right way the first time...and when he eats he ends up with half his meal in his lap...so it looks like he has peed!

Janea---always grabs the ones that are high waters or the ones that have stains all over them!

And then theres me and I can always fix everything!

And the count is now 3

That's right ladies and gentlemen! We are today having our third snow day of the season! Last year we had one and this year we are up to 3!

I live on the border of Kansas and Missouri. I work in Kansas but live in Missouri. I like it! Well usually what happens is that Missouri gets a ton of snow and Kansas gets very little so they don't cancel school. I on the other hand will wake up at 5 and turn on the news and watch every school in Missouri be cancelled and none of the Kansas schools will close! Well this winter there has been a lot more snow in Kansas than in Missouri and so I get the day off and my nieces have to go to school!

So my kiddos and I are home, we got to sleep in and the roads should be fine if we decide to do something later! I do have a lot of housework to do since I was sick over the weekend so I probably will end up doing that instead of going anywhere but it's nice to have options!

Happy Birthday Mom!

So today is my mom's birthday! I won't say how old she is but she is between 50-60 today! Today is also Groundhog Day! So every year we call my mom and sing Happy Birthday on the phone and then ask her if she's seen her shadow or not! So according to our family there will be 6 more weeks of Winter! Grandma saw her shadow!

On another note...I feel a little bit better today...took Friday off work and got a sub...

On the car front a wonderful friend from church brought their extra car by so that we can use it until we get our finances straightened out!

On the home front...still no news!
