Underwear, Spiderman, and Dancing

It's been a busy weekend in our household! Lots to do and some minor rewards! TOP STORY: Pullups are a thing of the past and Underwear is top dog in our house! Jaron has turned the corner! I have put the pullups away and even though we still are having accidents I am not going back to pullups!

Jaron because he is now wearing underwear has earned a new bed set. He traded in his babier bedding for SPIDERMAN!! New Pillowcase and Fleece Blanket! He is super excited and more motivated to go in the potty since I told him that if he doesn't I am taking Spiderman back!!

Tonights the dance at OPA. Both Janea and Jaron will be going with me. It will be lots of fun I hope! I'll try to get some pictures of them in their finery. My class is really looking forward to letting their hair down. I think that the parents are excited as well.

My Poor Class...

This year we have had the very first student council of OPA. The kids worked really hard to raise money so that the school could have a dance. They had everything all planned and had invited everyone only to have their venue close down with absolutely no warning! So we got mad and we are fighting back. The Local media is now involved and our students are learning how to show the world that you don't just walk all over kids! I am so proud of them!

One Crazy Weekend!

Well, life certainly never slows down for us! We have been in need of a new vehicle. We have been planning on seeking financing for a new to us car, one that had been leased or the like, so on Saturday we had financing arranged at two places. The first place we went could get us financing but did not have a vehicle on the lot that met the lenders criteria. On a whim we decided to go to the other dealership and with in 2 hours we had driven off the lot with a brand new car! It had 13 miles on it when we left! I am totally freaking out!

On one hand it may be the Providence of God. A vehicle that could be much more dependable. We do have a reasonable car payment and with insurance its not too bad. On the other hand it's like how did this happen? We wanted a new car but not necessarily a BRAND NEW car. It's been on the car lot for a while it is a 2006 and we will have to see what happens.

Well, that's it for now...

Earth Day at OPA

We had a fun day at school today. Annually we celebrate Earth Day and focus on beautifying and sprucing up the grounds of the school. We also get to enjoy spending time outside and the wonders of nature.(Our school has a ten acre campus)! Today we dug in the dirt, raked up the grounds and planted beautiful flowers in the flowerbeds! A fun activity for Spring! Janea did not have school at her school today so she came out and joined us for this activity as we invite parents to come and help out as well!

When it Rains...it pours!

Well, as if life wasn't a challenge already! Today was another stress filled day! I woke up this morning with a flat tire!!!!!!!! So not only is one car wrecked now one has a flat! Panic starts to set in and I rush in and I woke my husband up..we work opposite shifts.. and tell him that he will need to drive me to school so that I am not late for work! I call work, let them know I am running late, call my dad and see if he can pick me up since Dan will be at work and possible help me get the spare on this afternoon.(PTL, he can!) We drop off Jaron at the babysitters, and then head off for OPA. Janea was probably late for school this morning but that is the way things go sometimes. Praise God the flat happened in my driveway and not while I was driving.

So we are still looking for a replacement vehicle. The providence of God has been seen in that we are all safe, the rental was available, Dan's hours are better for my stress, and we will make it through these challenges!

I keep reminding myself of Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God"

One of those kinds of weekends!

Do you ever feel like if it could go wrong it would go wrong! That's my life right now. Friday was a tough day at school and I get the kids home and am starting to relax when my husband calls. He is supposed to be on his way to work, but he's been in a car accident. Praise God he is alright, just shaken up and bruised! The car is not! So we go from having two cars to one in 30 seconds!
Saturday we try and go car shopping to replace the vehicle! Can't find the place we are trying to get too! Olathe KS is a confusing city with too many streets with the same names! AHHHH! So instead of looking at cars we drive around for an hour! And to top it all off we get ticket on the way home.

Then my six year old decides that I am a big fat meanie and is being rude all Sunday night. I just keep trying to remind myself that no matter how tough life gets God is in control of all these situations and that he can handle it even when I can't. That being said if you know someone selling a car for a decent price please let me know!

Attack of the Kindergartners!!!!

Today at school was flip flop day. That is where the kids from a younger grade get to visit the next years class. Oh MY GOODNESS!!! I normally have 5 students and they can be a handful on their own. Today in class I had 12! Three of the boys refused to do work and just caused trouble. Since today was supposed to be fun I planned more group work than seat work! I have had this miniature hot air balloon hanging from the ceiling in my classroom since the beginning of the year, well today it is on the floor. I don't know how they did it but they knocked it completely out of the ceiling! I am looking forward to having first graders again in my class but after they have a summer to grow up and mature a little! I'll keep it posted...
