I got a song in my head...

And it sums up how I am feeling today! I can't remember all the words, but these are running through my head..Frustration, disconnected from it all. I can't remember the rest of the words or the artist that sings them but that is my life right now. It has been a day! I cleaned all day long, now for those of you who are cleanies and keeping a house clean is no trouble I don't agree. I have to work hard to keep my house fair, not even clean. That being said, I don't have great habits or the desire to clean. My husband has decided that he can no longer live this way and is being terrible right now. He has been a disagreeable grouch and I am tired of it. My resolution for the summer is to get the house in better shape, create better habits, and not do anything stupid where my marriage is concerned. For all you ladies out there who have more helpful husbands, I envy you.

One week to go

The last week of school is upon us! Only 5 more days to go and then I will be finished with my first year of teaching elementary school. I've taught preschool for many years but it has been a joy to teach older kids again. I've learned more than my students I think. Makes me also very glad that I chose a profession where I can take the summers off! I need some one on one time with the two kiddos! They share their mom well but I think they need some alone time with me.

Today we are headed to OMAHA! My sister lives there and we are having a "girls weekend plus Jaron"! Mom, me and the kids go every spring and then take the kids to the Henry Doorly Zoo for a day of fun! If we get some great picture I will post them!

What was I thinking?

I challenged my students to read for the month of April and I would treat them to a day out at the movies. They have decided that we want to see Shrek the Third this Friday! That means I have to find out how to get them there for the movie! I think I am crazy!

9 days and counting

I am starting to lose my marbles!!!!!!!!!

I am so counting day the last day's of school! We are trying to finish well but I am so ready for Summer! The arguing, the complaining, the not listening, the stuff that kids do is absolutely driving me crazy!!! I am ready for a nice long break!

Our church volleyball league is starting up tonight! I am excited and yet know I will probably make a fool out of myself! It is good exercise and I get to be with a group of people that I enjoy spending time with. I am so grateful to be part of a church that has such great people. The body of Christ is an awesome place and I fully enjoy being with fellow believers!

Shout out to my folks for watching the kids for me on Saturday so that Dan and I could go out for the evening! Thanks mom and dad!

Friday..but it felt like Monday

I love Fridays! It means the next two days with no school! Yeah!!! Well this past Friday definitely felt more like a Monday! I don't like Mondays, since my students seem to leak everything out their ears during their two days off. Well, our kindergarten teacher wasn't feeling well on Friday. She had a terrible sore throat, could barely talk and was just having trouble, so they asked me to fill in. Not a big deal normally, since I only teach in the mornings, except the first and second grade Science teacher(Ijust teach Math, Spelling, Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies.) was absent and had arranged for me to sub for him. So being SUPER TEACHER i said I could do both classes. Would normally not be a problem except for the fact that this was exploding volcano day. Did you see Lost on Wednesday where the teacher causes a small eruption? That's what we did but I had 5 different volcanos going off and we had these side vent that were very cool but extremely messy! So the kindergartners thought that was cool! We also had a video to watch and that went well. Then we ate the icecream that the younger class had made and by the time the day was over I was exhausted! Usually on Friday's class goes smoothly, we have fun, and the week is over! This week was so tiring. Dan and I also had a crazy arguement and I just was stressed for a few hours.

I got sunburned for the first time this season. I wore a tank top, skirt and denim shirt to school yesterday and we spent most of the afternoon outside and it was hot! I took the denim shirt off and so my shoulders and upperback were sunburned, I think that made me tired too! All in all I am thankful that there are only 9.5 days left to school!

I'm feeling old today...

It dawned on me today that I am really 30! Dan's birthday was yesterday and he is now the big 33. (Happy Birthday Honey) If you had asked me 10 years ago where I would be in 10 years I would never have placed myself here. I always saw myself getting married but i did not expect to be a mom of a seven year old at the age of 30! Janea's birthday is less than a month away! My baby is growing up so fast. I can't believe my real "baby" is now four! He's going to kindergarten in another year or two! They are growing up too fast:( At thirty I saw myself as having 1 child of around 2 maybe! God is good, and I am the proud mom of two! Stressed sometimes but I do think that I have two of the best kids around.

Last night at church was the Awana Awards night! I was so proud of all my kids and the hard work that they put into saying their sections. I am the director of the program at our church. Janea got her book award and then was also awarded the 2nd place girls Spark of the Year! I am so proud! She is highly motivated to get to be the Spark of the year next year!

Jaron is so funny! He was playing outside today and all he could talk about was Daddy's birthday! I think he was more excited than Dan! He is on a huge Spiderman kick right now! He got a Spiderman poster for his wall! He had it up with 3 minutes of us getting home tonight! I'm such a pushover at times! (I just noticed I am using the explamation point a lot, if my students did this I would lower their grades!)

I think I am feeling old because I need a night off! Dan is working the late shift and so I am alone for most of the week. I am looking forward to summer break and being able to be more than just two ships that pass in the night. We're scheduled to go out this weekend so hopefully I'll start feeling younger again!

Rainy Days and Squirrelly Kids

What I would like the day to look like!

AAHH! It's raining AGAIN! It has rained almost everyday for the last two weeks! I am so tired of Indoor Recess!!! They are louder anyway since it's close to the end of school and now they are trapped indoors! I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my class on our Chicago Trip!

My students and my kids are getting squirrelly! They just want to be outside the house, doing fun kids stuff and not wanting to work on anything! I don't blame them, it's hard to be inside when the weather is nice! I am so glad that school is out in 12.5 days.

Kids say the darndest...

My children totally crack me up at times! Jaron this morning has been talking about this flashlight thing that he found around the house. He is like"put it in my ear", I can't figure out why he needs it in his ear. Anyway, today I asked him if he needed to go potty and he replied" I no potty, I hungry!" He then grabs the fridge door, pulls out a leftover pizza box and grabs the last two pieces and says"mommy, this all gone" Now for those who don't know us really well, Jaron is a lot behind verbally, and for him to be communicating in full sentences is a real big breakthrough! I am constantly amazed at how much he is now talking and the things that he is saying!

A full week!

As we only have 18 more days of school it seems to me that the crazy factor is growing daily. Today we spent the whole morning working on our Spring Play at the church that we are borrowing for the performance. I hope that it comes together, the kids have worked hard but they are struggling. Also we have had chaos when it comes to the timing of things. It seems that the priority levels for some are different then they are for others. Is it just me or if you have a different priority than others that you not try to force your priorities on others? I don't get the selfishness of others.

I had to sub for another teacher today as well. I wish that people would call in sick sooner so that other don't have to pick up their slack. Its' been crazy at OPA this week.

My kids are great! Janea is working hard to finish the SPARKS book that she has this year! Jaron is still working on potty training. I am trying to finish the year strong so I can focus some quality "Mom" time with them this summer. I am trying to think of some fun things for us to do that won't cost a ton of money! I am looking forward to playing outside, going to the pool, and just hanging out with my kids! One of the definite perks to being a teacher!

Well, that's it for now. The kids and I are getting ready for AWANA!

Dance, Dance, Dance

Having Fun Dancing
Jaron's not sure what's going on
Having fun with the Chicken Dance!
Everybody get on the floor!

We had a great dance! The students loved the fun, the parents loved the food, and the DJ was great! OPA did ourselves proud with the festivities! Can't wait to do it again next year!
