A Month of "Mayhem"

Anyone else feel like the month of May is moving too fast?

It's only the 7th and I already feel like it should be over.

May is important in our family for many different reasons but this May is extra hectic....so far this month this has happened.

May 2-3:  "I HATE SHAKESPEARE"--Janea was in her first school production as a middle -school student.  She did a great job!  I am one proud Mama and look forward to supporting her through many more productions!

May 3-5  Fishing with Grandma and Grandpa!  We went down for Kids Fishing Day at Bennett Spring...love this place but it was COLD!  We got a record snow in May here in the great midwest!  Usually the first of May is warm and nice...this weekend not so much but we still had a great time and the kids enjoyed fishing, feeding the fish and hanging out with their grandparents~

May 4th was also a big day as my wonderful parents celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary!  I pray that Dan and I are able to have as productive a marriage as my parents have!

May 6th--Beautiful weather returned and we decided to enjoy an evening at the park.  Jayden loves the park!  As we were going I remembered that our church had a fundraiser for our Mexico team at Burger King...so we went and supported them and I didn't have to cook.

This week has brought Wax Museum of Famous Missourians for Jaron and he dressed up and did a speech on Walter Elias Disney for his Famous Missourian.

Janea is finishing up her Map Testing and working on finishing the school year with many research projects.

Wednesday is AWANA awards night for Jaron

Thursday is Dan's birthday and Muffins with Mom for me and Jayden at our school.

The weekend ahead is full of Mother's Day and Calvary's commencement for my parents....and until school's out I don't think we get to have a breather as we have upcoming meetings and inductions into NJHS for Janea!

This week was Jayden's 2nd Birthday and the anniversary of my sister's birth!  They share a day!

They are honestly some of my favorite people in the world!  So thankful for both of them and their special days!

Busyness and other whatnot

So here it has been about 2 weeks and I have fallen off the blog wagon...but not really.  See I've wanted to blog, had some posts in my head but honestly, we have been soooo busy this month!

So here's an update:

I turned 36 on the 6th...yes, 36...and I am old.  This birthday has been rather hard and I really don't like that I am now closer to 40 than 30 and it's mind boggling how old I am.  Dan and the kids took me out for dinner on my birthday and my folks had the kids and I over on the day after my birthday.  

Dan and I decided it was time to get me a new camera for my birthday!  HOORAY!  My other camera wasn't closing in the battery hatch and so I downsized to a small compact point and shoot with more features than my other one and better resolution.  I love getting to play with my new toy!

Friday the 8th Janea had a debate tournament at her school.  They were hosting so judges were needed.  I went to the evening session and judged storytelling and I enjoyed it very much, The firstborn and I didn't get home until rather late though and so the next morning was very tiring as the toddler decided to get up at his normal time!

 On the 9th we had AWANA Grand Prix...and Jaron raced his car...didn't place well but that's okay. Janea and Dan stayed home with Jayden since he and the car race wouldn't have been a good fit.

Sunday the 10th Dan and I got to go to the Matinee performance of Calvary Bible College's Seussical.  It was a lot of fun and nice to be out together without the kids.

 This week was weather week in my classroom and on Monday night I made Rainbow stew for Rainbow day.  The toddler decided that he needed to try it out for me and pose for the camera at the same time

The toddler is fascinated by all things big kid and this week he also decided that he needed to do homework with his brother.  

  

I can't believe my baby is going to be 2 in just under a month.  It's been a crazy busy month and it isn't slowing down at all...but that's a snapshot of my life right now!

Jayden certainly enjoyed eating his first taste of Birthday cake.  I had planned on making him a gorgeous little cake for his birthday....didn't happen I am definitely not a cake decorator!  That didn't stop us from letting him eat my pathetic attempt at a cake and he certainly enjoyed it.  Happy Birthday Baby!

What? Really?? Am I that Late???

So I decided to take a peek here on the old blog and realized that I haven't posted anything in the month of April...lots has happened and I have recorded nothing....nada, not a letter, comma or anything...so if anyone is still reading this....here's a little bit going on with us.

Saw the HUNGER GAMES movie and I was very pleased with it...sat in the 2nd row and got a neck cramp but other than that I really enjoyed the movie.

Easter Weekend...Birthday weekend.  My sister and Jayden share a birthday and so we had a super busy weekend.  Friday we had the day off for Good Friday and so my mother, Janea, Jayden and I went to get her a dress for the Spring Masquerade Banquet that Calvary was having...then we went back to Grandma's to dye eggs.  Saturday the big kids got to go to the Kaufmen Center and see Narnia the Musical and then everyone came over to my house to celebrate Jayden's and Wendy's birthdays.  Complete with cake, icecream and a yummy bbq dinner!  Then on Sunday the whole family was over again to celebrate that Christ is Risen!  It was a  busy and full weekend.

Jayden is now one and not quite walking.  He's still rather chicken to try and take steps but we are making progress as he did walk 3 or 4 last night to get to his water table.  My parents got him this AWESOME water table for his birthday and since it's still too cold for waterplay we have legos and other toys in it and it's a great height for him to pull up on and work in.  He also got 2 toy cell phones that he really enjoys playing with.

I have lots of pictures but I am currently not on my personal computer so I will have to wait on them.

Well, that's a little bit going on with us...hopefully I will post sooner rather than later...

We had a party with Grandma and Grandpa to celebrate Jaron's birthday!  So much fun to be with the family and celebrate our awesome 9 year old boy!

Jaron turned Nine on October 26th!  I can't believe how old he is now!  It seems like he was a baby just a few years ago....I love this kid to pieces

Janea's Birthday!

My Baby isn't a baby anymore...actually she hasn't been a baby for many years. 

She turned 11 this month..Boy does she make me feel old!  I can't believe she is a tween already! 

We had a small get together with cake at Grandma's house.  

For her birthday she also got to go and see a movie with Dad and brother and we will be updating the decor in her room and making it a little bit cooler!

34 Today

I turned 34 today at exactly 5:15 CST since I was born at exactly 3:15 PST. I'm old!

I've had a most enjoyable birthday! I got to go to church this morning! I love my church and enjoy getting to worship with my church family! Dan and I did skip Sunday School and go to breakfast which was nice!

The afternoon was spent with my parents and kiddos. They treated the 4 of us to lunch at one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants where I got to eat one of my favorite dishes...and it was SOOO good! Dan is fighting off a virus or cold or something so after lunch we dropped him off at home so he could nap...and then we went to my mom and dad's to have cake! Yellow cake with chocolate icing! YUMMY!!!!!!!!!! My parents did make me blow out 34 candles...not an easy feat for someone who is 33 weeks pregnant! But I did it!

It was nice to just sit and chat with my mom! I love my mom and its a blessing to just share and talk and hang out...she's been very busy lately and its been nice to see her!

So I have leftovers for tomorrow...some extra cake to enjoy and the privilege of being 34...hope I'm older and Wiser!

Janea's Birthday

The cake...we boought a store bought cake and I added the words! It turned out pretty good!

Janea's big present this year was the trip to Worlds of Fun but we had a nice day and fun on her actual birthday too. We also are going camping this week with Grandma and Grandpa...I think I will need a vacation from all this fun!

Wow!

I can't believe that 10 years ago today we were blessed with our wonderful daughter. Its been a lot of fun seeing her grow and mature from a small baby to a blossoming TWEEN! She is now officially double digits and I am a little sad at how big she is....yet I'm proud too. She is becoming a young women, a more complex and interesting individual. We've come so far in the last 10 years and I look forward to seeing her continue to grow and develop as the years go by. She is an awesome person and I love her so much!

We lost many of her small baby pictures during the flood 2 years ago when she had to swim out of the basement. Here is a picture of her around 5 months old. Here she is just a month away from turning 10!

Worlds of Fun Day

Janea wanted to go to World of Fun for her Tenth Birthday. Her birthday is coming up on Tuesday so Saturday was the perfect day to go. It was hot and tiring but we had a lot of fun. Here's quite a few pictures of our day of fun and Family!
